The Sangga Buana Hotel in Puncak is an older Hotel that has, thankfully, been maintained. It sits close to the town of Cibodas, after the Puncak Pass, traveling away from Bogor/ Jakarta.
This is an older Hotel offering large rooms in a good location. The Istana Raya Cipanas is a few minutes from the hotel and you are close to the beautiful Taman Raya Cibodas. There good shopping at Kampoeng Brascoe and the streets outside the Hotel are lined with shops and restaurants.
The Hotel has a large swimming pool. There were some peeling tiles, otherwise it was clean. It does get chilly by late afternoon though the gardens were a little disappointing, but there is enough room for the kids to run around in. The views from the back lawn are classic Java highlands. Breakfast was adequate.
Tasty, but lacked variety. In any case, there are lots of eating options just outside.
This is good value accommodation and Sangga Buana is immensely popular during the weekend. On weekdays, you generally have the place to yourself.
